Nappin' in style

Merika has finally started nappin'-can I get an aMeN and HaLLeLuJah!!! Anyway, the other day her 'sleeping bag' as we call it, was in the wash. Thus, nap time panned out like such:

Trav: Corbo, where is Mer's sleeping bag?
Me: It's in the wash. Just put one of her hoodies on her for now. They are in the right hand side of her closet hanging up.
Trav: Okay
***A couple minutes later Trav exits Mer's room......
Trav: I got Mer ready for her nap. When daddy is in charge, he has the say so.
Me: uhhhh, okay. Thanks for putting her down babe.
***A couple minutes later.......
Trav: Don't you want to go check on the grrrrrr? Daddy put her down.
Me: I'm thinking you want me to check on her so I will-what's the dealio.....

Mer's usual sleepin' bag, which was in the warsh
And this is what I found:
Mer all bundled up in nothing less than a chick-a-dee costume. HiLaRiOuS! Mer was sound asleep and lovin' every minute of it. I know, I know, her face is covered....don't call child services, after taking this pic I unzipped it a touch so her face wasn't covered. She did not suffocate during this here nap.
An hour later she awoke and stared up at us thinking, 'what the H@## am I doing in this chick-a dee getup?!' Nah, she loved every moment of it.

Next time around when her lil' pink inviting sleeping bag is in the warsh, we will definitely pull out the chicken. There's nothing like getting some much needed zzzzzz's in a chicken suit. I'm thinking of making one for myself. Maybe. Nope I won't. Any how, Happy Nappin' all!!!

Hanson Happenins

Mer sportin' her happy harvest outfit has an EXCITING announcement to make........my daddy PASSED the Bar!!! Yippee Ki-YAY!!! (A special thanks to granny debbie for the outfit!)
Meet Travis Hanson, Esquire AKA my awesome stud muffin. He has taken the oath and is an official Texas Lawyer.
His business partner and good friend, Todd, joined us for the grand swearing in ceremony.
Our newest buddy Judge Hatch introduced Trav at the ceremony.

As you can see, we have experienced some exciting happenings lately. Trav passed the Bar-PHEW and a holla woot woot-and also landed an amazing job. He is a lawyer for TTUHSC (HSC is the Health Science Center). He started his job last week and is really enjoying it. It's weird to say, but we just might be perma Lubbockites. Yup, we always swore up and down when we moved here that we'd only be here for 3 years and then we'd up and leave....but look at us. We really love Lubbock and have no qualm whatsoever with staying (other than the wind and bad allergies). Overall, we are so fortunate that Travio was able to land this stellar job, are counting our blessings and are fixin' to enjoy LBK a touch longer than expected. p.s. thanks to good insurance, I get to start allergy shots-yay.

Now onto our lil' Mars Mars Bo Bars. She is getting so big. She's almost 7 months old and is a tad over 13 lbs. What a heffer aye?! She's long and lean-5th percentile weight and 50th height.

She's not one for sitting on her bum bum, she'd rather lock her lil' leggies as straight as a board and stand all day long.
Check out these here chubby bubby thighs
These pics are deceiving because she really doesn't like her bumbo all too much-DaRnIt- I soooo wish she did. She will sit in it for about 2 minutes and then she'll try/succeed in boot, scoot and boogying her way out of it.
Boy oh boy do we love our little worm. She brings so much happiness, giggles, joy and love to our lives. Not to mention sleep deprivation, loud crying and lots of drool. All in all, we couldn't ask for more in a lil' munchkin. We heart you Mer and are so thankful for you!

Six glorious years of nothing but, 'good times, noodle salad'
with a touch of trials here and there of course.
Happy 6th anniversary Travio! I love you more and more each and every year. I'm so proud of all of your accomplishments and am THRILLED that you are done taking the Bar. Oh how I've missed you....... You are such a great hubby and an even better daddy to Mer Mer. We both adore you and are happy to say that you are ours. You are the sauce on our pizzer, the fizz in our coke and are such a winner winner chicken dinner in our books. Thanks so very much for all that you do for us, for your hard work ethic, always positive attitude, laughter, unselfishness, endless love and for just being you! You certainly are the cat's pajamas and we are your number one fans!!!
Huggins, Loves and Smoochies all around,

Tis HERE!!!!

THE B-A-R!!!!!!
After LoNg and GrUeSOmE hours and hours of studying, stress induced acne, headaches and cold sores the BAR is here!!! Let's not forget all the reading, note card making, memorizing, lectures, lack of family time, fun and life in general. Thank the heavens and then some the dreaded bar is finally here. Tis this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I know Trav is just as thrilled to take it as Mer and I are to have him take it. He's worked so hard, has been so diligent in preparing and is such a smart cookie that we know he will ace this succa. This studying has been such a bur in our booties and we are StOkED for him to get 'er DONE!!! GOOD LUCK babe-put on your 'Lucky Bar Exam' t-shirt and kill this thing! Mer Mer and I are rooting and praying for you all the way. Nothing but LOVE, huggins and a good game slap on the toosheroosky! I love you Travio and am the proudest wife in these here Southplains.

Say CHEEEEEESE!!!

Sorry I've been such a slacker and a half as far as blogging is concerned. I'd give the excuse that I'm a new mom and have little to no time, tis true true, but what a LAMO excuse at that. Our friend Kendal snapped some fab shots of Mer Mer a couple weeks back and this is a little taste of the ones that turned out. I say 'turned out' because it took us TWO photo shoots to get these (thanks Kendal for being so patient). Kendal was sick the first couple weeks of Mer's life and we had to postpone pics, thus, in the mean time she became a bit too old for taking new born pics and screamed bloody H.E. double hockey sticks through the whole shoot. Not to mention, she tinkled and pooh poohed all over me and everything as well. When you gots to go, you gots to go photo-op or not! Overall, I've decided that Mer is not one that loves being in the lime light. Any how, we are loving our lil' wiggle worm, peanut, Boolicious, fuss-nut and her endless energy, fun-lovin', spunk, loud screamin' lungs and her adorable demeanor. We are thrilled to death she is ours and she's a keeper. Now if she'd only start napping regularly and sleeping through the night................

We Came, He CoNqUeReD!!!! LAW GRADUATION....

Travio holdin' his head up high just before walking the red carpet (Law Graduation Hollywood style) and being hooded.

The Proud Wife

The Guys jumpin' for JoY!
Trav endured his three years of Law School with a FAB slew of guys. There were lots of laughs, lunches and breaks taken at the 'truck stop' and good times had (amongst hours of studying and exams of course).
The Gals!
The wives and supporters of the guys. We've all become sooooo close.
The crew
These here folks are nothing short of family and are some of our closest friends!!! From the numerous 'get your guns up' Red Raider football parties, hang outs, holiday parties, Thanksgiving dinners-you name it-we've done it all!!! We love these peeps so darn much and it's oh soooooo hard saying goodbye! However, it's not goodbye, rather, 'see ya later'.
Time truly has flown by for us here in Lubbock. Lubbock, though the wind is rather ANNOYING and cockroaches crawl freely, has certainly grown on us like we never imagined it would. It seems like we just moved in....3 years later....here we are loving it and are staying even longer. We are thankful for this past chapter and the friends we've made and look forward to the next.

Guess who's piggies these are?!?!

Every Monday I get an ultrasound just to make sure that all is well and dandy with our little babes. This past week the ultrasound tech was doing her thang and all of the sudden said, 'DANG, your little girl has LONNNNNNNG toes!' Yes siree, check out those long piggies!!! Her feet definitely take after Travs. I hope she gets his long legs too.....my stubby legs and long toes really wouldn't go. I am, however, still hoping that she'll get my nose. Trav's toes and legs + my nose=one cute little baby.

finally an update!!!

Our new home in progress--we are thrilled to move out of our apt. come May!!!
31 weeks and FINALLY able to fit into my one pair of maternity pants-yee ha! Still can't wear maternity capris though.....not big enough yet

Yes, we are alive and well!!! No one would know because we've been M.I.A. from this here blog for some time. I must say, things have been a touch crazy these past few weeks for us. A couple weeks ago I started having contractions every 5 minutes for 4 days straight. Not good! I was put on bed rest for 5 days and then was cleared to go back to work. I'm now on what I call 'booty rest'. Basically I go to work and am on my booty all day long and then go home and do the same. It gets tiresome sitting around, but I'll do anything for our little girl. Any how, my body is all too sensitive right now and doing anything sets off contractions. I also decided not to head home to UT for my showers as well...BOO....but it's definitely the wise and comfortable decision for me and the babe.

As of now, I am seeing a high risk OB two times/week and my OB once/week. I have two stress tests, an ultra sound and any other test, shot, etc. they deem necessary weekly. This sounds awful, but truly it's a blessing. I'm so thankful for my Dr.'s and nurses here-they are GREAT!!! All in all, everything is looking up. This whole time the baby has been super healthy. It's just my body that is not cooperating. They think I contract because I'm so small, thus, my body is contracting so it can grow. Due to me being so small, I feel every contraction. Thus, I'm on meds that help my contractions to lessen and my body to relax. Thank the heavens because my contractions are a lot less intense now. I'm still contracting 1-4 times/hour, but that is 'normal' for me and will take place up until birth. I do, however, have to go off of my meds at 34 weeks and hope and pray this baby will not come shortly thereafter. We need her to bake until at least May!!!

Overall, I'm still loving pregnancy and am so blessed to be able to carry this baby. At 7.5 months, I'm finally looking prego, got major cankles for 3 days straight (thankfully caused from a lung steroid shot for baby-are back to normal again), fit into maternity pants for the first time and Trav and I can't believe it's almost time to have this little wiggler. Yeah, we are thrilled, but want her to stay put until May.

Lastly, we want to thank all of you for your support and prayers. These complications have been stressful, but we have been blessed and have felt so much support and love from so many of you. Thank you!!! It has truly meant the world to us.

Our Little Ear of Corn!

us with our niece Shae-practice parenting
20 weeks

23 weeks
Yeah, our little wiggler GIRL is getting bigger by the week. She is definitely getting stronger, as I feel her kicking me harder week by week. I'm really loving pregnancy. It's such a blessing to have this little girl growing inside of me. She is now the size of an ear of corn. I love feeling her kicks and movement, however at 2 a.m. when she wakes me up...........Any how, here are some updated pics of me bells. If you have any insight, suggestions or recommendations for any baby rubbish-PLEASE share!!! We registered over Christmas and WOW, that was a touch overwhelming. Babies require a lot as we are learning. C'est la vie-we are enjoying this journey and are so excited to have this little girl come May.
