Tribute to all the Ute fans out there! (Posted by Corbo)

Last week we were able to watch the great rivalry game of Utah vs. BYU. What a great, yet LOUSY game it was. The Utes had it won with 1 minute exactly on the clock and then what happens--a BYU receiver catches a hail mary and it all went down hill from there. I will repeat what was said last year, "we'll get them next year!" What a hard loss. Personally, I would rather have them lose 49-7 than the way they did, however, it did make for a great game. Here's to next year--GOOD LUCK Utes and play hard to the END!!!

Our first Texas Thanksgiving

My mom did the bulk of the cooking, but I did help out a bit.
It was my year to learn how to cook all the Thanksgiving goods.

My dad carving the turkey--
this is his yearly task.
Cam hanging out, wondering
when the grub will be ready.
Happy Thanksgiving Y'all. Since Trav and I are here in Lubbock, the fam decided to come out and join us for all the festivities. My mom Debbie, dad Doug and twin Cam came out. My older brother Brandon was with his fam in UT. Thanks to my mom, we ate lots of yummy food. We also invited our best friends Kaylene and Jon, who are also part of the fam!!!

It's cold outside

Ever since we moved in to our apartment last July, Trav has been super excited about the fireplace. Therefore, we went out and bought wood so that we'd have it on hand for the first cold day. The cold came and Trav tried to start a fire, but it didn't work. The logs we bought were too big and wouldn't catch on fire. Thus, we opted for an easier route---a starter log. Yep, the logs that have rubbish in them so that the fire starts and continues to burn. Check out that fire folks, isn't it a beaute? Way to go Trav and Cam (my twin bro) you two deserve a merrit badge for that fire!!!!

We LOVE to travel. We started writing in a journal together about a year ago in order to keep our memories pinned down. Yesterday we were trying to think of all the fun places we have been so we made a list and included our "wish list" as well. Unfortunately we won't be able to go anywhere for awhile, but if we put it in the journal (and the blog), it's going to happen!

Fun places we've been:

TEXAS!!!
Las Vegas, 2007
Kansas City, MO, 2007
San Francisco, CA, 2007
Cancun 2007
Hawaii (Kauai) 2007
Las Vegas-Elton John Concert, 2006
Las Vegas-Celine Dion Concert, 2006

Anywhere in the Caribbean

Last night Jon and Kaylene came over and we watched Texas Tech powerfully upset the No. 3 Oklahoma Sooners. What a game! Way to go Tech! Thanks for everything Jon and Kaylene-we love all of our fun times-the chief, the cat, the flaming towel etc. You guys are the best!

Sam's club Does NOT compare to Costco

Back in good 'ol SLC Trav loved going to Costco. He would go there a good 4-5 times every week. He loved getting a slice and a coke and then just walking around to see what all was new in the store. However, when we moved to Lubbock we found that there was no Costco. Therefore, we actually gave in and got a membership at Sams Club. I'll be honest, at first we felt like traitors, like we had committed a major sin. However, we are getting use to the fact that we have no other choice and are now somewhat accepting Sams. Needless to say, when we are home this Christmas, Trav will most-likely go to Costco daily for a slice, a coke, and some good quality time that he's missed out on these past months. Sams Club, sad to say, is ghetto but it's the closest Trav has to Costco so he goes and enjoys his greasy slice and coke once a week.

Look at this happy guy---if he's this happy with Sams extra greasy pizza, just think how happy he is at Costco!!

Today Bobby Knight and the Red Raiders opened their season with a 68 to 56 thrashing of the UC Riverside Highlanders. Go Tech!
